This week we will start to use our new Reading Folders. We will have a set amount to read aloud each night, and parents are asked to sign that it has been done. We have invested in some new sets of readers that are really interesting, and the boys will also be encouraged to choose their own books from the class library or from home.
The goal is to instill a love of reading in each of the boys, and this will happen when they find books that peak their interest. Parents can really help with this.

Today Fr. Enda visited our class today to talk to us about our Confirmation preparation masses that are coming up.
Today we started to read the book ‘The Mystery of the Golden Stars’. It’s a story about 3 young people, Josh, Ricki and Maddy as they join forces to solve a mystery while learning all about the European Union.
This month we are going to be learning all about the countries of the European Union and the other countries in Europe too. We got presents from the EU too; a book with information about all 28 member states, and a large map of Europe to bring home with us. Lots of information on the link below.
We have a project to do too, and the guidelines are below.
The Parents’ Association will hold a Cake Sale this Friday 29th September. Please support it either by baking or buying!
The Confirmation programme is fully parish-based, and the parishes of Queen of Peace and Holy Redeemer will be providing you with all of the information that you and your child need to complete this programme during the year.
Below are the dates of all of the Confirmation preparation masses. The parish coordinator will drop explanation letters into the school prior to each mass, outlining what the parish would like the boys and their family to prepare at home.
The Confirmation Day itself hasn’t been decided yet.
Each week we will have a ‘Student of the Week’ and they get a trophy for the weekend.
